Federal gay marriage ban is ruled unconstitutional

In a surprising act of sanity, a federal judge rules properly in accordance to the Constitution. I just re-read it, and I really don't remember it saying anything about marriage at all. Now unfortunately, many of the people cheering this ruling trample the Constitution when it comes to different topics. And some of those lamenting the ruling uphold the Constitution at every chance.

How as a society have we become so skewed? So imbibed in the false left-right paradigm that we have so many contradicting views of America and the Constitution.

"While the American people have made it unmistakably clear that they want to preserve marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman, liberals and activist judges are not content to let the people decide,"
- Tom McClusky, senior vice president of the conservative Family Research Council

Sorry Tom, but this is a republic not a democracy and just because you can convince 50.0001% of people to believe that the federal government should invoke your idea of morality doesn't mean it should happen. The republic system protects the minority from the majority.

It is very clear that this issue is "reserved to the people or the states"  and not the federal government. But it is high time for people to treat marriage for what it should be - a contract between two consenting adults. If you want to call it a marriage... fine do so. But take it to your church.

Take government (all of the them) out of this issue.
