The Democratic Party: Hypocrites on the Arizona Immigration Law

E-mail Print PDF

You don't have to go far to hear the droning of mainstream news in America about the Arizona immigration law, the presenting of papers, and Hitler. But Democrats ARE the hypocrites when it comes to this key provision of the law. As you know, the key provision of the law which states that after an officer has stopped someone for a lawful violation, he/she may ask the immigration status of the parties involved if they think those people may not be lawfully in the United States. Libertarians do not agree on their stance on this portion of the law.

Now some people, rightfully, say this will lead to racial profiling (which already exists without this law). Many of us have experienced "driving while black" or "driving while young" so we know profiling exists by human nature. If officer friendly wants to pull you over, he/she will find a reason to do so just trying to find real issues to bust you on. BUT this law is in reaction to the federal government's lack of any real enforcement of immigration. Border states bear the undue burden of this failure by the federal government and are now without any recourse to keep their states from imploding.

All of this (state implosions, perceived racial profiling, border wars, etc...) will be the basis for the feds to pass sweeping immigration reform that will legitimize tens of millions of immigrants (as Bush and now Obama would like). But back to the Democrats...

See the Democrats don't oppose Stalinist or Hitleresque check points for immigrants on the basis of the constitution or race. They oppose the Arizona language because they want the power to stop EVERYONE for their papers.

Now in fairness, the NeoCon Republican contingent would love this too.

But the Democrats are the ones currently introducing a NEW NATIONAL ID CARD WITH YOUR BIOMETRIC INFORMATION EMBEDDED:

National ID Card Included In Democratic Immigration Bill

Dems spark alarm with call for national ID card

National ID and the REAL ID Act

The current proposed bill says the card will not be used for purposes other than employment but I guarantee that once implemented, that portion will slip out of existence or will be revised at 4am in the morning with the expectation congress would vote at 8am.

Of course, within the "Constitution Free Zone" this restriction would not even apply!

So who is really the savior here? Both of the major political parties are for removing your constitutional rights. Unfortunately, border states are caught in an unwinnable battle.
